Recommended Stack

Don’t install forty apps. Start with a few that you will actually touch every day. This is the exact stack we run and test, and it idles at about 106 MiB of RAM in total.

The Chikewa Starter Stack

  1. Miniflux — your RSS reader. Aggregates every feed you follow. Guide
  2. Navidrome — your music server. Streams your library to any device. Guide
  3. DokuWiki — your knowledge base. Plain-text wiki, trivially backed up. Guide
  4. PostgreSQL 16 — the database behind Miniflux. One small container.

Why this stack first

Each of these earns its place: daily value, low RAM, and a setup that is done in minutes. The full compose file, the real errors and the measured resource usage are all in the Starter Guide.

What to add next

Once the starter stack is boring (the goal), the natural next services are Nextcloud or Immich for photos and files, AdGuard Home for network-wide ad blocking, and a reverse proxy plus Tailscale for remote access. Those guides are in the pipeline — when they are tested, they will appear here.
